Cock Robin - Simply the Best

El grupo Cock Robin nació del encuentro a principios de los años 80 de Peter Kingsbery (nacido el 2 de diciembre 1952 de borde, teclado), Anna LaCazio (nacida el 26 de enero de 1962. borde, percusión), hende a Wright (guitarra) y a Louis Molino (batería). El grupo saca su primer álbum en 1985 y encuentra inmediatamente el éxito con los dos títulos "When Your Heart Is Weak" y "The Promise You Made". Francia está más concretamente bajo el encanto de Cock Robin y en 1987 el nuevo individual "Just Around The Corner" se alza en cabeza de los hits durante varias semanas. La mezcla armoniosa con las voces de Peter y Anna sobre músicas ligeros y mágicos fácil a retener son los ingredientes principales de Cock Robin.

R.E.M. - Out of Time

R.E.M. es una influyente banda estadounidense surgida en 1980 en el Estado de Georgia, EE. UU., pionera del denominado rock alternativo e inspiración de bandas de desarrollo posterior.
En la década de los 70, plena era punk, un estudiante de arte llamado Michael Stipe conoce a un coleccionista de LP´s de los años 60 llamado Peter Buck. Ambos se unen a dos músicos experimentados, Mike Mills y Bill Berry, y comienzan a tocar en pubs locales en la ciudad de Athens. Pronto se expanden por todo el estado y en 1982 publican un EP, "Chronic Town", con la discográfica I.R.S. Records. Combinando folk-rock y punk logran que la crítica les defina como auténticos innovadores de la música. Pronto su expansión se traduce a todo el país.
A principios de los años 1990, R.E.M. era enmarcados como una de las principales bandas pioneras del rock alternativo, lanzaron los álbums más exitosos de la banda: Out of Time (1991) y Automatic for the People (1992), los cuales consolidaron totalmente al grupo. Monster, el siguiente álbum, fue un retorno a un sonido más orientado hacia el rock, con el que comenzaron una gira que se vio estropeada por emergencias medicas sufridas por la banda. En 1997, R.E.M. renovó su contrato con Warner Bros.. A finales de ese año, Bill Berry dejó la banda, dejando a Buck, Mills y Stipe como únicos miembros oficiales. Pasando por varios cambios en el estilo musical, el grupo continuó su carrera en la próxima década con variadas criticas y exitos comeriales. En 2007, R.E.M. fue introducido al Salón de la Fama del Rock.

Wang Chung - Greatest Hits

Wang Chung Originalmente llamada Huang Chung formada en 1979. La alineación de la banda esta conformada por Jack Hues (voz y guitarra), Nick Feldman (bajo) and Darren Costin.Después de su desintegración en 1991, Wang Chung se juntó en 2005 para realizar una demostración en la televisión “Hit Me Baby One More Time”.
Wang Chung was a British New Wave musical group.Originally called Huang Chung from the Chinese for "perfect pitch" (though they later claimed it was the sound a guitar made on American Bandstand), the band formed in 1979. The lineup consisted of vocalist/guitarist Jack Hues, bassist Nick Feldman and drummer Darren Costin. Their self-titled debut was released by Arista Records in 1982 after several singles, including the minor post-punk hit "Isn't It About Time We Were On TV". In 1983, after being dropped by Arista and signed to Geffen Records, they changed their name to Wang Chung (at Geffen's suggestion, to make pronunciation easier for English-speakers) and subsequently they released ''Points on the Curve'', which yielded two major hits, "Don't Let Go" (#38 US) and "Dance Hall Days" (#16 US).Director William Friedkin specifically sought out Wang Chung to score his 1985 film ''To Live and Die in L.A.'' The resulting soundtrack is recognizable as their work, but largely eschews conventional pop song formulas for a more atmospheric and textured approach.In 1986, Costin left the band and Hues and Feldman continued to record. The same year, they had their biggest hits: "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" (#2 US, featuring the oft-quoted lyric "Everybody Wang Chung tonight") and "Let's Go" (#9 US), both from the album ''Mosaic''. Not long after releasing their final album ''The Warmer Side of Cool'' in 1989, Wang Chung disbanded in 1991.In June 2005, Hues and Feldman reunited as Wang Chung on the hit reality TV series ''Hit Me Baby One More Time'' performing "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" and a cover of "Hot in Herre" by Nelly

Spandau Ballet - Gold The Best Of

Spandau Ballet fue una banda popular inglesa en los años 80. Al principio inspirado por una mezcla de funk y synthpop. La Banda empezó en 1976 con Gary Kemp (cantante/compositor) y Steve Norman (guitarra, saxofón posterior y percusión). Ellos compartieron un interés similar a la música y un deseo común de formar una banda.Después vino John Keeble. John y Steve se habían conocido en la escuela, donde con regularidad se encontrarían en horas de comer para practicar tocar batería en un salón de música. Después de John se unió Michael Ellison (bajo). Luego se unió Tony Hadley (cantante). Pocos meses después Richard Miller reemplazó a Michael Ellison en el bajo, antes de que Martin Kemp finalmente se uniera a la banda un par de años después. Junto con Duran Duran, Classic Noveaux y Visage, se convertiría en una de los exponentes y pioneros de el nuevo Romanticismo.

Peter "Hithouse" Slaghuis (21 August 1961, Rijswijk - 5 September 1991)
fue uno de los Djs mas famosos y prolificos de Holanda. Entre mediados y finales de los años 80, produjo gran cantidad de mixes y remixes . Mixes destacados son la saga "Discobreaks" que contó con 14 volumenes y la colección "Hotsounds megamixes" que consta de 4 volumenes.
Tambien produjo y creó remixes, la mayoria para el club Londinense "DMC".
Remezclo solistas como: Kylie Minogue, Maria Vidal, Madonna, Alexander O'neal, o grupos: Pet Shop Boys, Europe, Technotronic, Mel and Kim, entre otros muchos.
Produjo éxitos de la talla de Video kids "Woodpeckers from space", el "Jack to the sound of the underground" o el "Move your feet to the rhythm of the beat", que firmaba con su propio apellido traducido al ingles "Hithouse". Slag, significa en ingles Hit "éxito" y la terminación Huis en ingles es "House", de ahí viene su sobrenombre Peter "Hithouse" Slaghuis. Lamentablemente este gran Dj nos dejo el 5 se septiembre de 1991 victima de un accidente automovilistico, 2 semanas despues de cumplir 30 años.
